Quantum Communication Engineer (IT-CS-NE-2023-4-GRAE)

CERN's IT department is looking for a Quantum Communication and Time and Frequency Engineer for CERN's Quantum Technologies Initiative, phase 2 (QTI-2). In this role, you will be in charge of the deployment of:

• A high precision Time and Frequency distribution network for CERN and the connections to National Metrology Institutes in Europe.
• Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) equipment and testing of new distribution protocols and technologies.

• Quantum communication technologies
• Precise time and frequency signals distribution
• Optical communications
• Software development
• Understanding of quantum physics principles in quantum communications
• Fluent in English
